One of Humayun Ahmed's most beloved novels — a deeply moving portrait of ordinary people caught in the storm of Bangladesh's Liberation War of 1971.
Courage, sacrifice, hope, and the dream of a free nation, told with the simplicity and emotion that only Humayun Ahmed could bring.

What an afternoon at Dishari Library. 🧡

Today's Dishari Talks 2026 brought us two extraordinary voices under one roof.

Partha Sircar (Engineer & Researcher) opened the evening with a sweeping, deeply researched talk on the History of Bengal & Bengalis — tracing who we are,
where we came from, and what shaped us.

Then Prof. Choi Chatterjee (Professor, Cal State LA) took us on a journey across continents with Tolstoy and Tagore: Principles of Global Thinking — weaving
together two towering humanists and asking what their shared vision means for our fractured world today.

Two sessions. Two perspectives. One unforgettable Saturday.

Thank you to both our speakers, and to everyone who attended the event. You made the room.
