The Millvale Police Department looks forward to greeting all of the 2026 Millvale Music Festival attendees.
Please be aware of driveways, "No Parking " signs and areas where state and local law prohibit parking. We strongly encourage folks take the very convenient shuttle to and from Millvale.
If you park where not permitted, your vehicle will be removed at your expense. Please don't let this be the way we meet!

I want to take a moment to recognize and thank the woman and men that make up The Millvale Police Department. The ten officers that are mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, partners, daughter's and sons wake up every day and put on The Millvale Police uniform with such great Pride, Dignity and Dedication.
This is a time in history when highly qualified officers that I'm proud to say our Millvale officers are, can choose to work in just about any department. Millvale Police Department has retained all but one full time officers in my 11 years in Millvale. This is because of the environment we as a borough and a community have created. We all love Millvale and deeply care about our residents, business's and visitors.
As a nation we celebrate National Police Week, May 10 - 16th, honoring all of the officers that have made the ultimate sacrifice. We leave each day for our shifts saying goodbye to our love ones with the full awareness that we may not return to our families. Yet we still choose to make that sacrifice so that we can keep our amazing town of Millvale safe!

*** Everyone involved has been identified. Actors involved are juveniles, we will not comment any further at this time. Thank you. ***

The Millvale Police Department was dispatched to a property on Sheridan St. at Maryland Ave. on Sunday morning at approximately 3am. Three female actors had brutally damaged the property owners vehicle. The amount of damage to the vehicle will easily make this offense a felony. There is no doubt that we will identify the three females as the video is of outstanding quality. There is also no doubt that the three females involved will be extremely humiliated if the video is made public. As the Chief of Police, I have no desire to humiliate anyone but it is my duty to hold those accountable for such heinous actions.
This is my message to the three females involved; If my detective does not hear from you by tomorrow at 11am, I will release the entire video to all three media outlets. You all will be identified within a very short time after the release of the video. One of the females will be even more humiliated than the other two and she will know why. Again ladies, you have until 11am Tuesday May 12th to contact Detective Zachary Potetz at 412-821-3410.

⚠️🐾 Millvale Police Department Warning: Puppy Scams on the Rise 🐾⚠️

We are seeing an increase in reports of puppy scams targeting our community. Scammers often pose as legitimate breeders or sellers online, offering adorable puppies at attractive prices—but it’s a costly trap.

🚩 Common Red Flags:
• Prices that seem too good to be true
• Requests for payment via gift cards, wire transfers, or apps
• Sellers refusing to meet in person or allow you to see the puppy
• Poor grammar or rushed communication
• Photos that appear copied or reused from other listings

✅ How to Protect Yourself:
• Always meet the seller in person and see the puppy before paying
• Research breeders and verify reviews or references
• Avoid sending money upfront without verification
• Trust your instincts—if something feels off, it probably is

If you believe you’ve been targeted by a scam, please report it to the Millvale Police Department immediately.

Message from the Chief:

The Millvale Police Department has received multiple inquiries about school buses being passed when their red lights are activated. To be clear we have received no reported incidents through 911. There is a process when a bus has its red lights on and stop bar activated. The buses are equipped with cameras and the bus operator is duty bound to report any violation to their dispatcher. The report and video from the violation is sent to the police department who has jurisdiction. The incident is assigned to an officer to investigate and if the violation is confirmed the operator of the offending vehicle is cited. Millvale PD has had one such report this school year and the offending vehicle operator has been cited. I have spoken to ABC Transit Safety and they have not been made aware of any ongoing problems. They are going to speak to their staff to confirm.

If anyone observes a violation, “to be clear the red lights and stop bar must be activated”, call 911 and report the incident. Millvale PD can then contact ABC Transit and request the video of the reported possible violation. The Millvale Police Department, ABC Transit, and The Shaler Area School District take passing school bus violations extremely seriously and violators will be cited with vehicle code violations. The penalties are severe and can include,

• 60 day driver’s license suspension
• 5 points on your driving record
• $250 fine plus a $35 surcharge

Again if a violation is witnessed call 911 and report it. If anyone reading this has or would be so selfish as to put a child’s life at risk understand you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and will have a very uncomfortable date with District Judge Konieczka in your future.
