MILLTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT – PARKING REMINDER 🚔

As we prepare for the upcoming closure of State Road 64 and the increased traffic that will be traveling through our community, the Milltown Police Department would like to remind everyone that all curbs marked with yellow paint are designated NO PARKING ZONES.

These areas are marked to help ensure:
✅ Safe traffic flow
✅ Visibility for motorists and pedestrians
✅ Access for emergency vehicles
✅ Safer intersections and roadways throughout town

With additional vehicles expected to use Milltown as an alternate route during the SR 64 closure, it is more important than ever that yellow curb areas remain clear at all times.

Please take a moment to check where you are parked and help us keep our streets safe and accessible for residents, visitors, school buses, delivery vehicles, and emergency responders.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience as our community experiences increased traffic over the coming weeks.

If the curb is painted yellow, parking is prohibited.

Summer is quickly approaching!
If you love the water and are interested in learning how to safely navigate our Indiana waterways, we have a great opportunity for you!

Crawford County Health Department and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are partnering to provide a FREE Boater Safety Course for Crawford County residents on June 6, 2026.

All participants who successfully complete the course will receive a FREE emergency kit that includes a life jacket, first aid kit and sunscreen.

There will be a limit of 20 spots available. Call 812-338-2302 x1 to reserve yours. To ensure you receive your incentives the day of completion, please reserve your spot at least two weeks before event.

🚨 DWI ARREST IN MILLTOWN 🚨

On Saturday afternoon, officers with the Milltown Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Milltown that resulted in the arrest of a male for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI).

Chief Jimmie J. Vincent and Patrolman Dwayne Osborne were on patrol when they encountered the situation and took swift action to ensure the safety of our community. The individual was taken into custody without incident.

Driving while intoxicated puts not only the driver at risk, but every family, neighbor, and visitor traveling our roadways.

The Milltown Police Department remains committed to keeping our streets safe through proactive enforcement and community vigilance.

Please remember: If you choose to drink, do not drive. Plan ahead, use a designated driver, call for a ride, or stay where you are. One bad decision can change lives forever.
