In 2025, Mills launched Municode on the city website, giving residents easy online access to all city codes. This allows the public to quickly find ordinances, zoning regulations, and other important information without needing printed copies or calling city staff. The system improves transparency, saves staff time, and reduces administrative costs while making information available instantly to the community. While there may be a short delay in posting newly approved ordinances and resolutions, city staff works diligently to keep the platform as accurate and up to date as possible.

Yesterday was a fun afternoon at Wyoming Classical Academy for Wyoming Reads! Mayor Juarez was the honored guest, sharing *Bear and the Three Goldilocks* with 1st grade students. Their excitement and love for reading made it such a meaningful experience. These moments are powerful in building a lifelong love of books, learning, and imagination.

We’re grateful to be able to participate in events like this at our Mills charter school. Thank you, WCA! Here’s to a fabulous end of the school year. πŸ“š

K9 Officer Archer retired in 2025. The City of Mills welcomed K9 Officer Louie to continue our K9 program, funded through the optional 1Β’ sales tax. K9 officers play a critical role in public safety, assisting with suspect apprehension, tracking missing persons, detecting illegal substances, and supporting investigations that require specialized scent detection and training.

Beyond their operational duties, K9 officers like Louie help strengthen community relationships through school visits, educational demonstrations, and public events that foster positive engagement with residents. By strategically using optional 1Β’ sales tax revenue, Mills ensures the K9 program remains effective, enhances public safety, and continues providing a valuable service to the community.
