Hard to believe it has been 5 years since we hosted the Grand Reopening of Niagara Fire House.
It was a beautiful day just like today that we gave a new life to Millis’s Iconic historical landmark. Thanks again to everyone who participated at our Grand Reopening, and everyone involved in her restoration.
We are planning on monthly open house events and working with the library and cultural council to host more events at Niagara.

On this day in history, 3 January 1842, Charles Dickens travelled to America.

John Quincy Adams wrote in his diary 13 March 1842 “Mr and Mrs Dickens left us about 4. O’Clock.— They are so beset with civilities, and kind attentions, that they have not a moment of time to spare and it was only by snatching an hour from other engagements that they could see us at all.”

WHAT IS A CEILIDH? CEILI, BARN DANCE OR HIGHLAND FLING. Originally the word Ceilidh (kay-lee) descended from the Gaelic word for 'gathering' or 'party'… However, these days when people think of a Ceilidh, they think of a fun filled night of wild dancing, good music and great company!
