Kent County Public Schools will be providing meals for children 18 years old and younger over the summer. This year, families can choose between picking up meals each day or a single weekly pickup of a 7-day frozen meal box. The daily meals will be available during regular daytime hours. The 7-day meal boxes would be distributed in the evening, as supplies last. Children do not need to be enrolled in Kent County Public Schools to receive these meals, however we do need the families to complete a registration. An On-Farm Food Service Facility (FSF) is a food establishment located on a working farm that prepares and serves food directly to the consumer.

House Bill 272 (Food Establishments โ€“ Lavatory Requirement and On-Farm Food Service Facility License)โ€‹ changes the On-Farm FSF license from a limited, 30 to 90-day operating period to an annual license. This change will provide licensees greater flexibility, permitting them to prepare and serve food on their farm year-round. This will take effect in 2027.

The Maryland Department of Health, Office of Food Protection, will be hosting several virtual and in-person meetings throughout the State.
