Constituted 7 February 1944 in the Army of the United States as the 1266th Engineer Combat Battalion.

Activated 27 March 1944 at Camp Bowie, Texas. Inactivated 8 November 1945 at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma. Allotted 26 February 1947 to the Organized Reserves. Activated 14 March 1947 at Memphis, Tennessee. (Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve). Redesignated 4 June 1948 as the 467th Engineer Combat Battalion. ed and redesignated 1 November 1949 as the 467th Engineer Aviation Battalion. Reorganized and redesignated 31 January 1957 as the 467th Engineer Battalion. Inactivated 1 January 1958 at Memphis, Tennessee. Activated 15 November 1971 at Memphis, Tennessee. Location changed 15 January 2004 to Millington, Tennessee. Ordered into active military service 28 September 2004-10 November 2004 at Millington, Tennessee; released from active military service 26 March 2006-8 May 2006 and reverted to reserve status.
