Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Family Treatment Court The FTC strives to keep families united while overcoming custody issues due to substance abuse.

The Family Dependency Treatment Court is a program designed to break the cycle of addiction

and neglect in the family setting by holding parents accountable for their actions. The FDTC

advises, monitors and supports parents receiving treatment for substance addiction and abuse

that is negatively affecting the wellbeing of their children. The FTC uses a team approach towards conquering paren

tal substance abuse by devising a

highly structured and coordinated technique to eradicate family dependency issues. The FTC’s program will promote an assist in achieving a sober lifestyle for substance abusing

parents while keeping families intact. Intervention by the FTC prevents the placement of children into the foster care system by

directly addressing parental issues. The Baldwin County FTC is a component of Georgia’s Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit and is the only

court of its kind in the district. The Baldwin County FTC is currently funded by a state level grant with hopes to eventually

reach a level of federal grant funding.
