Happy Labor Day, Utah! Today, we celebrate the accomplishments of the American labor movement in our society. Without organized labor, we wouldn't have weekends, workers' compensation, or overtime pay.

I'm proud to stand with Utah workers and unions as we all continue to fight for a fairer America.

Supporting good candidates in down-ballot races matters to me as much as anything happening at the top of the ticket – this year and every year. There's one candidate in particular I want to start by highlighting.

Jake Fitisemanu was a West Valley City Councilman, then flipped House District 30 from red to blue in 2024 because voters trusted him to keep showing up for them. I've worked alongside Jake for years. He is incredibly thoughtful and curious, listens before he legislates, and truly looks out for his neighbors. That's the kind of leader this state needs more of.

I've been knocking doors with Jake because none of this is possible without people willing to do the work. You don't have to live in District 30 to help. Anyone and everyone can make a difference. Go to jakeforutah.com to learn more and get involved.

Campaigns can be ruff, but spending an afternoon with dogs makes everything better. Thanks to the Women's Democratic Club of Utah for hosting Dems with Dogs and introducing us to some of Utah’s most persuasive political animals.

I’m proud to have the support of the Human Rights Campaign—America’s foremost organization in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality.

As LGBTQ+ Americans face attacks at home and in Washington, our country needs leaders who are committed to standing up for inclusion and equality, even when it’s hard. I fought for nondiscrimination protections and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Utah’s LGBTQ+ community during my time in the State Legislature, and I’ll continue to do so in Congress.

Rain came down, the trail turned to mud, but big smiles at the finish line anyway. This is what Utah's public lands are for. Get outside, get dirty, have a good time with your family. That's a good weekend.

I had a great visit with a few Boy Scout troops talking about public service — what the job really looks like and why civic engagement starts long before you're old enough to vote. These Scouts had sharp questions and will be voting before we know it. Utah's future is in good hands.

Repealing the Roadless Rule doesn't just mean that huge swathes of our national forests would be cut down for the timber industry.

It would do the exact opposite of what the Trump Administration says it does and make wildfires even worse.

This is what happens when out-of-touch politicians in Washington call the shots for places they know nothing about. I've had enough, and Utah has too.

I met with faith leaders from across Utah who shared with me concerns from their congregations. People’s fears of ICE are keeping them from their places worship. I heard this right as the news broke about ICE crackdowns in Southern Utah. ICE ruthlessly targets nonviolent people working and raising families, only to be swept up and taken away from their homes.

I’m grateful for the faith leaders who shared their stories about how federal policies are harming their communities. If elected, I’ll work to end the senseless and cruel ICE arrests. I’ll work to fix our broken immigration system so people can immigrate legally and focus law enforcement on those who are actually dangerous to public safety.

On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, granting women across America the right to vote.

Today we honor the legacy of the brave suffragists who fought for this right and commit ourselves to ending gender inequality in America. In Congress, I'll continue to fight to close the wage gap, secure women's bodily autonomy, and oppose efforts like the SAVE Act that disempower and disenfranchise voters.
