The Millbury Police Department would like to recognize a significant honor bestowed upon one of its own.

Millbury Police Department Sergeant Keith Gasco has been formally cited by the Massachusetts House of Representatives in recognition of his heroic actions following a February 2026 incident while assigned to the CEMLEC SWAT Team.

The citation was presented to Sgt. Gasco on Tuesday, February 26th during the Board of Selectmen meeting, where it was formally recognized by town officials and attendees.

This citation serves as acknowledgment from the Commonwealth for his bravery, resilience, and commitment to duty under extreme circumstances.

The Millbury Police Department extends its appreciation to Sgt. Gasco for his service, and to all members of law enforcement who continue to place themselves in harm’s way in the line of duty.

Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, the Millbury Police Department pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage and devotion to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we ask our community to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and remember those who gave everything for our country.

From all of us at the Millbury Police Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families.

❤️ Remember🤍 Honor💙 Never Forget

Please have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend

We’ve received several calls today about a black bear roaming around town. One of our officers was able to safely snap this photo of the bear on Pineland Avenue.

We are aware of the bear’s presence and, at this time, it is not causing any issues.

As a reminder:
• Please do not approach the bear
• Keep pets secured and supervised
• Give it plenty of space if you happen to see it

If the bear appears aggressive, injured, or poses an immediate danger to people, please contact the Millbury Police Department right away. Otherwise, the bear will likely move along on its own.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and concern!
