: Don't have your A/C in yet and need relief from the heat...
..visit loved ones with air-conditioning or spend the warmest parts of the day in air-conditioned public spaces (libraries, malls, community centers, movies), cooling centers (call 2-1-1 to find cooling centers). Millbury cooling centers are the Millbury Public Library, 128 Elm Street, & Millbury Senior Center, 1 River Street, during business hours (unless otherwise noted).

And, please remember to check on your neighbors, especially the elderly as they are the most vulnerable group affected by heat-related illnesses.

: Heat-related illnesses happen when the body is not able to properly cool itself. While the body normally cools itself by sweating, during extreme heat, this might not be enough. In these cases, a person’s body temperature rises faster than it can cool itself down. This can cause damage to the brain and other vital organs.

Know the signs of heat related illnesses and how to help if you recognize them in someone or yourself.
