E-BIKE Key Regulations in PA

Motor & Speed: Must have a motor ≤ 750 watts and not assist over 20 mph.
Pedals: Must have fully functional pedals.
Weight: Cannot exceed 100 pounds.
Age: Riders must be 16+; under 12s must wear helmets.
License/Registration: Not required.
Where You Can Ride
Roads: Same rules as cyclists (traffic lights, signals).
DCNR Trails: Allowed on trails open to traditional bikes (check local signs).
Local Trails/Paths: Varies; some, like Montgomery County, enforce lower speeds (15 mph).
Where You Can't Ride
State Game Lands: All e-bikes are prohibited.
Restricted Trails: Areas marked closed to biking.
