The 1880 Milford Utah

The 1880 Milford Utah Once knows as the Willams Hotel finished in 1880 is the oldest building in Milford. J.D. The home housed the miners from the surrounding mines.

Willams the man credited with giving Milford its name built this home with adobe brick and clay. The property was exquisitely furnished for the day, with a huge dining room, beautiful chandeliers and balcony that over looked the whole town. The building has remained much the same on the outside, however in the early 2000's it was updated and turned into a single family dwelling. Pete and Valorie a

re the most recent owners of this amazing property. We have spent over 4 months bringing freshness and updates to the home. It's been a labor of pure love caulking, painting and cleaning, watching the house transform. Sadly there have not been many photos of the past surface for us to share so we thought we would share our transformation. If you or someone you know may have photographs of this amazing place please feel free to post along with any memories.

One of the lengthy processes we did before painting was caulking EVERY piece of wood in the house. I had NO idea what amount of time it was going to take to do this portion of the project. Well I do now... over 500 hours, 230+ tubes of caulking and a missing fingerprint. It really did make a difference in the look and feel of the entire home, less dirt and less spiders. It's hard to see a before and after but take my word for, It was worth the missing fingerprint and weeks of my life. Wonder if I can be certified as a master caulker now? 😂🪜🪟🚪🔖

Facelift in the living room. We hung Bold wallpaper and transformed a cabinet into a wine bar, created a nice focal point and brought in some color and fun.

it's in the small details that were saved throughout the years in an old home that keep the stories alive. There are a number of details that were kept in The 1880 as it's gone through 143 years of sheltering people. The doors in the interior of the home I belive are original they still have the room number on the doors.
There are to many layers of paint to try to save the original number so I found some hammered metal numbers to bring back the nostalgia of the hotel feel. At one point I think there were 10 or 11 rooms. The transoms over the door add so much character and light to the rooms. There are a two leaded glass transoms I believe are original also.

The kitchen project was a bit of a puzzle. We took cabinets out of an old job Pete did, Pete spent hours retrofitting cabinets to make it fit The fridge was way too big to fit where we planned but we made it work. Pete did such a great job matching the color of the cabinets to the new skins on the bar bottoms they look like they are part of the original install. The skull aka pantry got a face lift with white paint and wallpaper removal. I love the dinning room with the large table and amazing animal print chairs. Such a great find!

My favorite transformation in The 1880 is the kitchen.

Day 1 - A look upstairs.. I love the original banister, still beautiful.

Day 1 - The suite up stairs with a view of the balcony. I've been told it was an apartment for the owner before it was turned into a large bed, bath and massive walk in closet in the early 2000's.

Welcome to THE 1880 🏡 AKA the Williams Hotel built by J.D. Williams the man credited giving Milford it's name. This home was finished in 1880 to house the miners. The Willams hotel was furnished with grand style with a large dining and beautiful chandeliers. I can only imagine the conversations that took place around the table. We are coming full circle 143 years later and opening this beautiful home for corporate lease.
