The Summer Solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year, and nature is truly showing off right now—the forests are full of lush greenery, our favorite pollinators are hard at work, and wildlife of all shapes and sizes are singing a summer symphony.

Summer’s just around the corner and we’ve planned a summer bucket list for you and your adventure pups at Cincinnati Nature Center! From trail adventures to new discoveries made along the way, we hope you have a paw-fect summer! 🐾☀️

We work hard to make sure everyone stays safe while at the Nature Center. We ask that you help us protect your pets, other visitors, wildlife, and our trails by following our rules for dog/owner conduct:
* All pets MUST be leashed at all times—keep those tails on the trails!
* Never leave pet waste behind—visit one of our pet waste stations for bags and help us keep our trails clean.
* Please keep dogs (and other pets) out of the Nature PlayScape at all times.

A parent kneels beside a child, watching in awe as a turtle slips quietly into the water. A child catches their first glimpse of a screech owl—close enough to see every feather, every movement. A family hikes on Firefly Trail, savoring every small discovery that unfolds along the way.

Did you know your Cincinnati Nature Center membership travels with you? Our members can receive FREE admission at over 150 nature centers nationwide by simply showing their member card.

Our staff pick this week is Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium!

If you’re headed south to the Fort Myers area, our staff recommend visiting one of our ANCA partners through the Reciprocal Program, Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium.

Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium offers a unique experience that blends immersive nature trails, native wildlife, and astronomy. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the butterfly garden, raptor aviary, and hands-on exhibits, as well as a planetarium. Birders or adventurous walkers will enjoy the wild, immersive feel of the nature trails, showcasing untouched Florida habitat. It’s a wonderful way to stay connected to nature—even while on vacation.

We are honored to be one of the nonprofit beneficiaries participating in Art In Action, a unique community art show that demonstrates the power of creativity to inspire change.

Art In Action brings together 25 local artists and cause-based nonprofits in a meaningful collaboration. We're especially excited that local artist Sharmon Davidson selected Cincinnati Nature Center and our mission of Inspiring Conservation as the inspiration for her artwork!

We invite you to experience this unique exhibition and see how art can bring nonprofit stories to life. The show opens at Millcroft Gallery (201 Mill St., Milford) on Friday, June 5, from 6–8 p.m., with a special nonprofit fundraising event on Wednesday, June 17, from 6–8 p.m. The exhibition will then continue at Off Ludlow Gallery in Cincinnati.

Every artwork purchased supports a local nonprofit, helping strengthen the organizations that make our community thrive.

Join us in celebrating local artists, conservation, and the impact we can create together through art!

“Can we relinquish half, or even more of the lawn to create a garden that is beautiful for us and benefits nature?” says Jennifer Smith, Wimberg Landscaping Horticulturist & Client Service.

“The impetus for this change of garden heart is due in great part to homeowners being the first on the block to create front yard pollinator gardens. Books, podcasts, lectures, and classes plant the seed - excuse the pun - for doing more with our gardens to support nature. But I believe it’s when we see, in our own neighborhood, a landscape that’s embracing this new way to garden, we find the inspiration to make the change ourselves.”
