Fun Fact :

After the Battle of Germantown in October 1777, a stray dog wandered into George Washington’s camp.
It belonged to the enemy commander, British General Sir William Howe.
Instead of keeping the animal, Washington had it fed, cleaned, and cared for. He then wrote a polite note to Howe and arranged a brief ceasefire to return the dog across enemy lines.
In the middle of a brutal war, with his army exhausted and the Revolution hanging in the balance, Washington chose simple humanity and honor.
The act changed nothing about the outcome of the battle, but it revealed the character of the man who would one day lead a new nation.
A small moment of decency amid the chaos of war.
