Congratulations to MFD’s Junior Firefighter Sydnei Montes. Syd graduated from High school tonight and now Sydnei is pursuing a nursing certificate and an EMT license with final plans to become a paramedic. Hard work Sydnei!

“Sunday Fun Day”. Interagency collaboration enhanced water delivery skills and demonstrated hose lays, drafting, water tender operations, and resource familiarization. Crews from US Forestry, including Mt Taylor, Utah USF, Lincoln County USF, Cibola County departments- Fire Marshal’s Office and Emergency Services, Cubero Vol. FD, Fence Lake Vol. FD, Candy Kitchen Vol. Fire Dept., El Morro Valley Vol. FD, San Rafael Vol. FD, and the municipal Milan Fire Department participated.

Update #2: “Fuego” the puppy has been taken in by a local resident and now has a new and safe home.

UPDATE: We had information given on the possible owner. Contact was made and the puppy was not claimed. The puppy will remain in our care and a possible collection will taken to have the little guy get his shots and a check up at the vet unless we get anymore leads on ownership.

A puppy was discovered on the road near Carver Oil and Yokum St. in Milan, NM. If you are the rightful owner or have information about the owner, the puppy is in the care of the Fire Chief and is undergoing fire pup training for active duty at Station #1 on Motel Dr. in Milan, NM.

Basket bingo hosted by Grants Rodeo Association in lieu of assisting MFD with the proceeds to host the 88th Annual Tri-State Firemen’s Convention & School.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all the bingo players, our esteemed sponsor Grants Rodeo Association, and those who generously donated baskets and prizes for their outstanding support. The basket bingo event was a resounding success. We hope that everyone in attendance had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. All proceeds from the event will be allocated towards the 88th Annual Tri-State Firemen’s Convention & School, which will provide training, memorial services, meals, and competitions for firefighters, their families, and guests on July 30, 31, and August 1 at the Grants Rodeo Arena & Grounds.
