Reminder: Board of Trustees applications are due tomorrow, June 1.

Have you considered serving on the library's Board of Trustees? Apply now to fill a vacant position. Details:

The Milan Public Library is seeking a resident to fill a vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees until December 31, 2028.

This is an unpaid position.

Candidates must be a City of Milan resident and a registered voter.

Preference will be given to candidates who can serve as treasurer. Milan Public Library has a controller and bookkeeper; the Board Treasurer position is mainly an oversight of the library’s finances.

Please review the treasurer position description:
- Review financials monthly & discuss at bi-monthly board meetings
- Become a signer on the bank checking account and be a second signatory on any checks
- Do bank reconciliations and respond to bookkeeper with approval
- Work with director, bookkeeper and controller on the annual budget
- Work, if needed, with the annual audit

Applicants should plan to attend the Tuesday, June 23 board meeting.

Community News: The Splash Pad is open!

The Splash Pad is open!

With the warmer temps happening now, our DPW crew was able to get the Splash Pad open earlier than planned.

Please note that the Splash Pad will be closed May 26 - June 1 for the Fair. It will reopen again after the Fair and remain open until Labor Day*

*The Splash Pad may close during this time for routine repairs or special events (including Aug. 14-16 during Relay for Life).
