House Fire
1044 West Woodrow St.
Milan, Tennessee 38358
On Sunday January 25, 2026 at approximately 9:50 AM, the Milan Fire Department was
dispatched to a residential fire at 1044 West Woodrow St in Milan. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy
smoke visible in the rear of the structure. Firefighters were advised that there were no people or pets
inside the home. Firefighters initiated a fire attack using handlines and were able to successfully
extinguish the fire. The Gibson County Fire Department provided mutual aid.
There were no injuries to any residents or firefighters at the incident. The damage estimates were
not available at the time of the press release. The most probable cause of the fire was an electrical
malfunction. Due to the damage to the home, all the residents were displaced and the Red Cross assisted.
The Milan Fire Department would like to remind everyone that working smoke alarms save lives.
They should be tested monthly and be less than 10 years old. We have alarms available through the Get
Alarmed Tennessee program for residents of Milan and Gibson County. If you need alarms in Milan call
(731)686-3996 for Gibson County call (731)723-9228.
