🚨 Official Public Safety Announcement 🚨

From the Milan Police Department – Milan, Illinois (Population: 5,000 Very Important People)

Attention world travelers, Olympic athletes, and anyone with a plane ticket:

We know that Joey Donia KWQC Joey Donia at KWQC TV6 News has been a little confused lately on the but we appreciate his enthusiasm. We regret to inform everyone that this is NOT the Milan hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics.

That’s Milan, Italy.
We are Milan, Illinois.
Yes, we checked. Twice.

While we are honored by the sudden international interest, we would like to clarify a few things:

• 🏅 We do not have Olympic venues.
• ⛷️ The only downhill events here involve sledding if it snows enough.
• 🏟️ Our stadium seating capacity is approximately “bring your own lawn chair.”
• 👮‍♂️ Our security detail is excellent, highly trained, and fully prepared to direct you… to the correct Milan.

However,

If you accidentally end up here, you will find:

• 🍕 Several outstanding pizza establishments (arguably medal-worthy).
• 🚦 Minimal traffic (unless it’s 4:45 p.m. at the one busy intersection).
• 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 All 5,000 of us, ready to give directions and ask who you’re related to.

We kindly ask visitors headed to the Olympics to:

1. Double-check your airline tickets.
2. Confirm your GPS does not say “Illinois.”
3. Refrain from asking us where the Olympic Village is (it’s probably near Rome).

If you’re here for pizza, however, you’re exactly where you need to be. 🍕

Stay safe, travel wisely, and remember:

Wrong Milan, right community spirit.
