Mille Lacs County Reserves

Mille Lacs County Reserves Government Organization Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds.

The Mille Lacs County Reserves are a dedicated team of volunteers who assist the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office by donating their time and effort to the city and the community. Some individuals are interested in a law enforcement career while others wish to provide worthwhile community service that contributes to the safety and security of Mille Lacs County.

We have a Rufus update! He is home and resting with his family and looking eager to make a full recovery! Please see the note below from his handler/ Co-responder Noehring-

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support for Rufus from our community. 💙 Thanks to the generosity of so many, the GoFundMe started by Deputy Sammis reached its goal of over $6,000.

Rufus is now out of surgery and beginning his recovery journey. Throughout the day, we found ourselves reflecting on just how thankful we are for every donation, every share, and every message of love sent his way. It truly means more than we can put into words.

With 10–12 weeks of recovery ahead, we’re hopeful and excited to see Rufus back doing what he loves, serving and connecting with our community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

This morning, several of our reserves joined forces with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office and Big Lake Police Department reserves for a joint search and rescue training in the Sand Dunes State Forest. The training focused on search techniques to locate a simulated lost hunter and provide stabilization for safe extraction. We’re grateful to our partners at Sherburne County for hosting this valuable exercise, which helps our reserves stay prepared to assist in searches across remote areas.

Now, time for a well-earned bath! 🧼

We recently held a promotion and recognition ceremony for a number of our staff. Captain Bradley Hunt was assigned as the Enforcement Services Captain (previously served as Captain of Detention Services), Captain Dustin Naumann was promoted from Detention Services Lieutenant to Detention Services Captain, Lieutenant John Henderson was promoted from
Jail Programs Coordinator to Detention Services Lieutenant and Sergeant Jason Gallion was promoted from Investigator to Investigative Sergeant. We also recognized our newest deputy sheriff, Jon Evans. Deputy Evans came to us from a Sheriff’s Office in Iowa and prior to that he served in the United States Marine Corps. Congratulations everyone on the promotions and welcome to the team Deputy Evans!
