📚 Happy International Literacy Day! 📚

We are so excited to announce our inaugural Middle School Battle of the Books! 🏆📖

Thanks to an incredible partnership with Lindse Barks and the Mid-Del Public Schools Foundation, nearly 100 books were donated—in less than a month!—to equip our middle schoolers for this exciting quiz-style reading competition.

Thank you to our amazing community for stepping up so quickly to support our students and teachers. We can’t wait to see our middle schoolers dive into reading, compete school-wide, and head to the district-wide Battle of the Books!

Pick up a book and celebrate with us today! 📚✨

Last week, we had the opportunity to sit down with Jeff Harrison from the Midwest City Beacon for a great conversation about all things Mid-Del!

Jeff shared his journey from Wisconsin to Oklahoma, what brought him to our community, and his experience covering the people, schools, and stories that make Mid-Del such a special place.

We’re grateful to have Jeff as part of our community and appreciate the work he does to help tell the great stories happening right here in Mid-Del.

🎧 Check out his episode on Off the Record and get to know Jeff Harrison!

Congratulations, Dr. Silvya Kirk!

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Silvya Kirk, Mid-Del Board of Education President, who was recently honored by the Kiwanis Club of Midwest City with the Women in Kiwanis Award!

Dr. Kirk was recognized for her outstanding leadership, service, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of children and throughout our community. Her commitment to Mid-Del Schools, Key Club, and community service reflects a message she shares often: “We have to do it for the kids.”

Thank you, Dr. Kirk, for leading by example and encouraging the next generation to make service a lifelong habit. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

It’s time for Wednesday Wisdom!

This week, we asked the Roadrunners in Ms. Melton’s class at Ridgecrest Elementary one very important question:

🖍️ What makes school fun? Tell us in ONE word!

From coloring to friends and all the fun in between, these little Roadrunners definitely know what makes school a great place to be!

Great job, Roadrunners, for sharing this week’s Wednesday Wisdom!
