The Midwest City Senior Center is back to normal operations. The meal will still take place today at the scheduled time.

The incident with the potential explosive device in a vehicle at Midwest City Fire Department Fire Station 1 has concluded. The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad located the device and deemed it safe. Reno has been re-opened and all facilities in the immediate area will return to normal operations. Midwest City Police Department did a phenomenal job handling this incident in an expeditious manner, and any further updates will come from them. Thank you to all who live and work in this area for your patience as this was handled.

Midwest City Senior Center Coordinator Linda Bly, as well as the rest of the staff, say they love their senior center visitors even more than they love cows. And that is saying a LOT as you can tell by this picture of Linda! 🐄

On a serious note, our wonderful staff do care a great deal about the special people who come to the Senior Center each day, and they work very hard to make sure it remains an inviting and engaging place for our amazing seniors. This is just another example of the wonderful community that is Midwest City.

A Special Evening for Special People

Some amazing members of the Midwest City Senior Center had a ball Tuesday evening at the 2nd Annual Seniors’ Prom at the Nick Harroz Community Center.

Glitz and glamour were on display as attendees arrived and made their way down the red carpet. After enjoying a delicious dinner, conversations carried on and the dance floor quickly filled. From two-stepping and line dancing to “The Twist,” everyone showed off some fancy moves and had a fantastic time.

So many people and groups donated their time and talents to make this night truly memorable. Midwest City High School Home of the Bombers and Carl Albert High School sent their outstanding JROTC cadets and Key Club members, who were all wonderful. Luxe Galas kept the music and entertainment flowing. The Midwest City Police Department Community Action Office set up two full charcuterie-style tables and brought plenty of energy to the dance floor, while the Midwest City Fire Department was also on hand to help. We also extend appreciation to Oklahoma Federal Credit Union, Jen Hargis, Licensed Insurance Sales Agent, Voyage Long Term Care, and Morada Midwest City for their contributions.
