On May 30th, we were blessed to have four local residents stop in to say hi , check out the trucks and equipment, and take a tour of the fire station.

On May 19th, at around 2:04 p.m., the Midway Fire Services responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle with injuries in the area of East Oglethorpe Hwy and Edgewater Drive.

On April 25th, 2026, at 6:23 am, the Midway Fire Services along with Liberty County Fire Rescue responded to Martin Road for the reported structure fire. Midway Fire Chief arrived on scene and confirmed a working structure fire with heavy fire showing. Engine 13 pulled into the driveway and deployed two hand lines for fire suppression operations. Liberty County engine 18 hit the hydrant and laid in. Crews for Midway and Liberty County conducted interior attack. The fire was under control roughly 25 minutes after receiving the call. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported. The Liberty County EMS and the Midway Police Department assisted at the scene.

Southeast Georgia has been fighting an increasing ammount of wildland fires. We are asking citicens of midway to donate items such as socks, non-perisible foods and hygiene products to aid our fellow fire fighters at Brantley County. Please drop off all items at our fire station (10518 E oglethorpe HWY Midway, GA)

On April 11, 2026, at around 7:20 pm, the Midway Fire Department responded to Ezra Place for the report brush fire. Upon arrival, fire personnel requested Liberty County Station 18 for additional resources. The fire was extinguished with no issues. The Midway Police Department and Georgia Forestry assisted at the scene.

After extinguishing the fire, two local juveniles asked to have a picture taken with Firefighter Gonzalez.

A job well done by all first responders.

On April 4th, 2026, at around 8:13 am, the Midway Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Island Highway. Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered the fire was approximately 300 feet off the roadway. The fire was contained and extinguished. Georgia Forestry and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.

On April 1, 2026, at 4:37 pm, the Midway Fire Services responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of East Oglethorpe Hwy. and Butler Street. One driver was checked over by EMS at the scene.
