🇺🇸 September 11 — We Remember.
Today, the Piney Green Volunteer Fire Department pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and other first responders answered the call that day with extraordinary courage. Many never returned home to their families. They made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others, and their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We also remember the families, friends, and communities who continue to carry the weight of that loss, as well as the countless first responders who have faced lasting consequences from their service in the aftermath of 9/11.

From one fire department to the men and women who gave everything on that day: we remember, we honor, and we will never forget.

Today, we want to wish all fathers a very Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for your love, guidance, sacrifice, and dedication to your families and communities.

We would also like to extend a special Father’s Day wish to all of our volunteer firefighters who are fathers. Your commitment to protecting and serving others while being role models for your children is truly inspiring. Whether you're answering a call in the middle of the night, attending training, or spending time with your family, your selflessness does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for all that you do, both at home and in the fire service. We hope you enjoy a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved Father’s Day with your loved ones.

🚨 To our Piney Green Community! 🚨

Although this isn’t a burn ban we highly encourage you all to take caution when burning or using equipment that may cause sparks!

🚒 HIGH FIRE DANGER: I sound like a broken record at this point, but High Fire Danger to Very High Fire Danger is returning to Central and Eastern sections of the state on Thursday. The combination of a very gusty southwest wind and extremely dry fuels, due to the ongoing severe drought in many areas outside the mountains, will lead to high fire danger on Thursday!

Dry grasses, dead leaves, and other tree litter could easily ignite and spread fire quickly. Folks in this area are urged to properly dispose of cigarette butts, matches, and any other flammable items in appropriate containers. Exercise caution if operating any equipment that could create sparks, and keep vehicles off of dry leaves and grass.

Lexi is a dedicated member of the Piney Green Volunteer Fire Department and consistently showed hard work, commitment, and a strong desire to serve her community. We were proud to watch her reach this important milestone.
