The Village of Midlothian Volunteer Coalition

Since 1991 the VMVC, a local non-profit organization, has been working collaboratively with citizens, local and small businesses, civic groups and organizations, and neighborhood associations to enhance the Village and surrounding areas.  They work hard to maintain the historic pedestrian scale and streetscapes, and promote plans that provide walkability and accessibility to the Village and those it serves.

Through dedicated efforts and an unwavering commitment, this citizen led coalition along with the help of many volunteers, facilitated coordinated efforts and established partnerships, to provide our community with; multiple parks, refurbishing playing fields and athletic areas for our children, miles of sidewalks, streetlights and streetscapes, enhanced landscaping and architecture, and worked to enforce local historic architectural standards, that are representative of the areas coal mines and mill works of yesterday. The VMVC provides a valuable resource for citizens, businesses, land owners, county government, elected officials and developers. Their primary goal ~ to achieve an effective and transparent process where voices are heard and community engagement begins early, continues throughout the process and through completion.
