Big things happened this year at Ettrick Elementary! ๐ŸŽ‰

A new two-generation pilot program helped create opportunities for both students and parents to grow together through education, career development, financial literacy, and family engagement.

Through this innovative partnership, kindergarten families received wraparound support, personalized educational planning, career coaching, and opportunities to build long-term stability and success. Students also participated in workshops designed to strengthen academic and social-emotional growth alongside their families.

This program demonstrated the power of investing in entire families to build stronger futures and stronger communities. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š Thank you Google for your support!

Super Counselor, Ms. Hoffman, is transforming the way she connects with students through play therapy. By becoming certified in play therapy, she is gaining new tools to help young students express their feelings, navigate trauma, and recognize just how special they are.
We are proud to support her in earning this certification so she can continue making a meaningful impact in her school community every day.

๐ŸŒฑ Innovation Grant winner Bryan Sheetz is helping students turn hands-on learning into real-world career opportunities.

Since launching in 2021, this innovative turfgrass management program has introduced students to the growing landscaping and green industry through meaningful, real-world experiences. Students learn everything from field preparation and mowing patterns to workplace safety and special event setup โ€” all while developing leadership, creativity, and pride in their work.

The programโ€™s impact is already being seen across the community. Students have secured internships and job opportunities with organizations such as the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Richmond Kickers, Chesterfield Parks and Recreation, and local golf courses.

This work goes beyond maintaining athletic fields. Students are creating safe spaces for athletes, memorable experiences for fans, and strong foundations for their futures. ๐Ÿ’š
