MCUD Opens New Facility!

​MCUD Celebrates opening of the new Dr. Shelton Viney Water Treatment Plant on May 14, 2026.

Many were in attendance for the celebration at the new facility where guests got to sample glasses of drinking water straight from the tap of the new blue elevated water tank.

We are proud of what we have accomplished and are committed to the future.

Midland County Utility District's purpose is to serve the public and to accomplish a water control and improvements district. The MCUD service area consists of approximately 84.5 square miles of land in Midland County, just south and east of Midland City limits.

Officials say the new system is being tested now, with service expected to begin by the end of the month.

MIDLAND COUNTY UTILITY DISTRICT HAS WATER! With the completion of the water main that runs down CR 110 and a portion of CR 1110, MCUD is now filling the water tanks at the new water facility.

CLEAN and RELIABLE water is one step closer to Midland County. We received shipment of our state-of-the-art RO Water system this week. Soon will be able to produce up to 500,000 gallons of water per day. A big thank you to our partners as well as The Midland County Commissioners Court and County Judge Terry Johnson for your support.
