It’s National Potato Day!
Did you know there was a potato patch at the Reed Mine? The Reed potato patch wasn’t for root vegetables, but instead was an area of rich digging on Upper Hill where miners dug gold “like potatoes”. Nuggets found in the trench weighed up to 12 pounds, and were presumably the size of potatoes. Other miners in the area found up to 19 pounds of gold in one day.

This is a ticketed event, a limited amount of tickets are available only on Eventbrite beginning September 1.
