At our February Quarterly Meeting, we accomplished a lot!💙❤️
We proudly voted to fully fund several incredible organizations, including Chippewa Nature Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, and CMU Medical Education Partners.
Thank you to our members, presenters, and community partners for an evening of collaboration and action.

Several students in the community have achieved something extremely rare… they’ve been published as authors in a peer-reviewed scientific research journal. This is the same level of academic publishing that college students, graduate students, and even professional researchers work years to accomplish.

Special recognition to our own Sophie Cai and Sanvi Patel, whose names now appear in legitimate academic literature alongside established researchers.

We’re incredibly proud of these students and the Space Farmers program for proving that high school researchers can contribute meaningfully to real science.

Dow High graduate Margaret Hitt wasn't expecting the research of her and her fellow Space Farmers to be published in a major scientific journal.

November meeting: absolutely stacked.
We kicked off early, powered through three quarterly grants, funded ten mini-grants, and still had time for committee updates and new volunteer opportunities.

Our quarterly grants? Fully funded across the board.
Shelterhouse.
The Breaking Bread Village.
Foster Families Navigation & Resource Center.
Three presentations, three green lights. Huge work from our due-diligence teams.

Committees are also pushing forward: Inclusivity is gearing up for April’s big event, Projects is tackling mental health and social media overuse, Grants finalized the field trip policy, and PR is building out new media resources.

Volunteer shifts for Poseyville Preserve and Santa House are open. If you want in, reach out to an officer or Sara.

No November/December meeting, so enjoy the break. We’ll see you at the December Social!!! ❄️🎄

Halloween’s been around longer than you think 😮🎃

It started as a Celtic festival (Samhain ➡️ “Sow-in”) and evolved into the candy, costumes, and chaos we know today 🍫🎭

Our October meeting was filled with great energy, laughter, and leadership in action! 🎉

Members connected, shared updates from committees, and looked ahead to exciting plans for the year. We also heard an inspiring message from Alysia Christy about the importance of trust and collaboration in philanthropy. 💡

The highlight of the night — celebrating our President, Luvya, for being invited to join the Michigan Community Foundations Youth Project (MCFYP)! 👏💙

It was an amazing evening that captured the heart of what youth philanthropy is all about — connection, community, and making a difference together. 💛
