Most residents of this county, boyhood home and later the residence of George W. Bush, are Republicans, but Democrats manage to have an impact. Midland is the center of the petroleum industry in the Permian Basin, a large part of West Texas known for its oil and gas deposits.

My day started off a little yucky 🤕, but it turned into such a wonderful and uplifting day!

I was grateful to be invited to the AFL-CIO Labor Day lunch, where Claire Reynolds for Congress
and Rep. Vikki Goodwin for Lt Governor spoke.

Later, we had a great turnout for Vikki Goodwin’s healthcare town hall. She shared her Texas Cares Plan and took the time to answer questions from our community. We were also happy to welcome representatives from Clayton Tucker campaign, who joined us on his behalf.

I’m so thankful for everyone who came out and helped give Vikki such a warm Midland welcome! 💙
