During my hike in Missoula, Montana today, I came across an impressive old-growth Ponderosa Pine. The tree's visible scarring indicates that it has endured at least one forest fire, and possibly multiple. This specimen is the largest Ponderosa Pine I have encountered. It is crucial that we protect these trees from being cut down.

Endorsing Grayling Michigan. Recent visit showed it's an ideal place to educate kids on nature, conservation, Michigan history, logging, and labor laws, all while emphasizing the significance of conservation and balancing industry with profits. The pictures below are from an old growth forest, a protected Jackpine forest set aside for an endangered bird called the Kirkland Warbler, and a ghost town from the 1800s. These places will stimulate the minds and create some great discussion on the ride home.
