To safeguard the health of our recruit depot populations, additional screening protocols have been implemented during the shipping process. Recruits are being screened for high-risk of exposure based on travel and interaction with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 or who has traveled to a Level 3 country as defined by the Centers for Disease Control. If found to have heightened risk factors AND fever or common flu-like symptoms at any point during the shipping process, including at the MEPS and upon arrival to the training depots, recruits will be cared for per CDC and Navy Marine Corps Public Health Center guidance. Recruits exhibiting fever without heightened risk factors will be treated according to standard medical protocols.
