Hurricane & Severe Thunderstorm Season is Here

The Borough of Midland Park Office of Emergency Management reminds all residents to stay prepared and stay informed as we enter peak storm season.

Be Prepared Before the Storm:
• Secure outdoor furniture, garbage cans, and loose items
• Charge phones and backup batteries
• Stock emergency supplies (water, food, flashlights, medications)
• Review your family emergency plan

During Severe Thunderstorms:
• Stay indoors and away from windows
• Never drive through flooded roadways — Turn Around, Don’t Drown

Hurricane & High Wind Safety:
• Monitor weather alerts and local notifications
• Prepare for possible power outages
• Stay clear of downed trees and utility wires
• Follow all local emergency instructions

Important Reminders:
• Treat ALL downed wires as live — stay far away
• Use generators OUTDOORS ONLY, away from doors and windows
• Check on elderly neighbors and those in need

Stay connected for updates from Midland Park OEM and local officials.
Preparedness saves lives. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
