The Middlesex Transition Academy (MTA) provides students with disabilities, ages 18-21, the opportunity to address their individual transition goals in an integrated, age-appropriate university environment. The MTA, in partnership with families, students, adult service agencies, the community, and Wesleyan University, provides comprehensive transition services that will prepare students to succes

Our students are so excited to start a new job site this week! Just in time for Earth Day, we are partnering with the Middlefield Park and Recreation Department to clean up the beach at Lake Beseck and Peckham Park. Any guesses on how many eggs this was?! Our students helped fill eggs for multiple community events, and WOW was it an adventure. They learned that an assembly line style of working was the most efficient. By dividing and conquering the work, one student opening eggs, one filling and one closing, and another organizing into boxes, they filled over 650 eggs!

We loved the sunshine earlier this week, and refuse to let the hint of Spring go. Students chose shamrock shakes as their cooking lesson. Learning what each of the kitchen appliances can be used for, and how to operate them, are important skills. And this was one tasty lesson!
