♻️ Safe Disposal Day: Clean Out Your Shed & Garage! ♻️
Middletown residents, it’s time to get rid of those old chemicals and hazardous materials safely! The City of Middletown and RiverCOG are hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection this Saturday, May 16th.

Keep our water and soil clean by disposing of your household toxins the right way—for free!

📅 Event Details
When: Saturday, May 16th
Where: Water Pollution Control Facility
Address: 20 Gildersleeve Drive, East Hampton, CT
Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

✅ What to Bring:
Home: paint, thinners, pool chemicals, drain cleaners, cleaners, aerosols, and mercury thermometers.

Garage: Gasoline, antifreeze, brake fluid, and engine degreasers.

Garden: Pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and fungicides.

❌ What NOT to Bring:
ammunition, explosives, 20 gal propane tanks, drugs, fire extinguishers, commercial/industrial waste.

Pro Tips for the Drive:
Keep items in their original containers if possible.

Pack your car carefully so containers don't tip or leak.

Take advantage of one of the following Paper Shredding Events on Saturday May 23rd and get rid of those old bank statements, tax forms, and sensitive documents safely and securely.

💰 Cost: FREE!
✅ Limit: 5 boxes per household

💰 Cost: Suggested Donation
✅ Limit: no published limit - based on donation
