What does this athlete need next?

Aidan developed the CCNS Athlete Hierarchy of Needs from his experience coaching athletes, developing coaches, and building programs like CCAP. It gives our coaches a shared way to decide what needs attention now and which goals make sense next.

Our From First Skills to Mastery series takes you inside Hunter, Ben, Nick, and Vivien’s work with CCAP, New England Devo, Bear National, and VeloSport. Each team story shows a different coaching situation and the thinking behind it.

Every coach works across the full pathway. These examples show how the priorities change with the athlete.
