We’re proud to announce the newest addition to our fleet — Boat 70!

This 14' R‑One rescue boat strengthens our water rescue capability and enhances safety for airport operations and the traveling public. The purchase was funded through the Office of the State Fire Commissioner’s Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant — we are grateful for this opportunity.

Boat 70 will improve our response to water incidents and bolster our readiness for aircraft or aviation‑related water emergencies in accordance with FAA water‑rescue guidance.

Local 4838 Announces Successful Collective Bargaining Agreement, Extends Gratitude to Key Partners

Local 4838 proudly announces the successful completion and ratification of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), marking a significant achievement for its membership and a testament to the power of collaboration and good-faith negotiations.

Local 4838 extends its sincere appreciation to its dedicated Negotiations Committee for their tireless efforts, professionalism, and unwavering commitment throughout the process. Their work ensured that the voices and priorities of our members were represented every step of the way.

We also offer our heartfelt thanks to our Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority administration, and the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority Board for their continued support and commitment to negotiating in good faith. Their collaborative approach was instrumental in reaching an agreement that provides meaningful benefits and strengthens the future of our workforce.

Local 4838 would like to recognize the invaluable guidance and expertise provided by Scott McNew, Central Pennsylvania District Service Representative, and Bob Brooks, President of the Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association. Their leadership and support throughout the negotiations process played a critical role in achieving this successful outcome.

This agreement reflects a shared commitment to progress, fairness, and the well-being of Local 4838 members. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with SARAA as we move ahead together.

Did you know operates an M.C.I. trailer outfitted to treat approx 100 patients? Today (1.25.26) C-Shift updated our trauma bags and QRS bags. We also restocked our M.C.I trailer (Special Ops 70-1). This equipment is available to whomever may need assistance in an M.C.I. Just make the request via Dauphin County 9-1-1.

B-Shift handles wind damage to a salt shed.

During the afternoon, Rescue 70, Engine 703 and the Deputy Chief responded to the area of 516 Airport Dr for a partial collapse of a salt shed. Units arrived to find the roof structure of one of the salt sheds had failed during the high winds. Units established a safe area and worked with maintenance personnel to bring down the rest of the structure for safety purposes. No injuries were reported.
