The Town of Wallkill Police Department is helping spread the word about the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee Traffic Safety Poster Challenge for New York State high school juniors and seniors.

Students can create an original traffic safety poster for a chance to have their artwork displayed on posters and billboards across New York State.

Today, we join our nation in remembering the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, the impact remains deeply personal. Members of our department served at Ground Zero, and members of our police family and community continue to carry the lasting effects of that day and its aftermath.

We honor the victims, the first responders, their families, and all who answered the call to serve.

We will never forget 🇺🇸

EVENT CANCELED – BLUE SKY SPORTS COMPLEX

The Sudanese American Soccer Federation event scheduled for tomorrow, September 6, 2026, at the Blue Sky Sports Complex, 162 O’Haire Road, Town of Wallkill, has been canceled.

No persons or vehicles will be permitted to enter the property for this event. Motorists and attendees are asked not to travel to the location and not to park on nearby roadways or surrounding properties.

Please plan accordingly and avoid the area.

The Sudanese American Soccer Federation event being held at the Blue Sky Sports Complex, 162 O’Haire Road in the Town of Wallkill, has reached maximum capacity.

At this time, no additional vehicles or attendees are being permitted into the event.

Vehicles are not permitted to park on public roadways or other unauthorized areas surrounding the event. Vehicles parked illegally may be subject to ticketing and/or towing.

Please avoid the area and follow the directions of police officers and event personnel on scene.

State Route 17 westbound is currently closed just after Exit 120 due to a motor vehicle collision in the Town of Wallkill.

PASSING OF POLICE K-9 BANE

The Town of Wallkill Police Department announces with profound sadness the passing of
Police K-9 Bane.

Throughout his service with the Town of Wallkill Police Department, K-9 Bane served
our department and community with unwavering dedication, courage, and loyalty. More than a
police canine, Bane was a trusted partner, protector, and valued member of the Town of Wallkill
Police Department family.

K-9 Bane served alongside his handler and partner, Police Officer Madison Warner. The
bond between K-9 Bane and Officer Warner extended far beyond their work together and
reflected the extraordinary trust, dedication, and companionship shared between a police K-9 and
handler.

Throughout his career, K-9 Bane made a lasting impact on our department, our
community, and the many individuals who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside
him. His dedicated service and contributions to the Town of Wallkill will not be forgotten.

K-9 Bane served faithfully and with distinction, and his memory will remain a lasting
part of the Town of Wallkill Police Department.
