π Did you know? If you have at least one grandparent born in the US, there's a good chance you could trace your line back to a Revolutionary War Patriot!
Join the Middletown Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for a workshop series on discovering your Revolutionary War ancestry, right here at the library. You'll learn how to use FamilySearch public trees and the National Society DAR database to identify a potential Patriot ancestor.
π₯οΈ This workshop requires a laptop, and Part 2 requires attendance and completion of Part 1 (or equivalent).
Part 1 β Wednesday, Sept. 23
Learn how to correctly add yourself to FamilySearch and connect your family into the public tree. Bring what you have on your family tree β especially names, dates, and places of birth and death for your parents and all four grandparents.
Part 2 β Friday, Oct. 16
Use your connected tree alongside the DAR's Genealogical Research System to identify a potential Revolutionary War ancestor. This session helps you find a branch of the tree worth exploring further β traditional genealogy research will be needed to fully prove the line.
Part 3 (optional) β Monday, Nov. 16
Get one-on-one help continuing your DAR registration process, with Middletown DAR members on hand to assist.
Registration is required for all sessions. Sign up at mtpl.org!
