***Weather Siren Update***

At this time, the outdoor warning siren remains out of service due to damage sustained from a recent lightning strike. Replacement parts have been ordered, and we are awaiting their arrival to complete the necessary repairs. We will provide an update as soon as the system is restored.

With a potentially significant storm system forecasted for Monday, April 27, residents are reminded that outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert those who are outside. They should not be relied upon as your primary means of receiving severe weather warnings.

The National Weather Service recommends the following:
• Have multiple ways to receive warnings, including NOAA Weather Radio, smartphone alerts, and local media.
• Monitor forecasts closely, especially as conditions may change rapidly.
• Know where you will take shelter if a warning is issued. The safest place is a basement or an interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building, away from windows.
• Be prepared for the possibility of severe thunderstorms, including damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes.

Please take time now to review your severe weather safety plans and ensure your family is prepared.

We appreciate your patience as we work to restore the siren system and thank you for your continued support.

**Weather Siren Update**

The Middletown Fire Protection District would like to inform residents that our primary weather siren is currently out of service due to what appears to be damage from a recent lightning strike. Additional repairs will be required to restore full functionality.

In the meantime, we have coordinated with the Village of Middletown to ensure access to the village’s siren system so that emergency alerts can still be provided to our community if needed.

At this time, the weather forecast indicates no significant severe weather threats for the remainder of the week. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and keep you informed of any changes.

Public safety remains our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete these repairs and ensure reliable warning systems are in place.

As always, we encourage residents to have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts, including weather radios and mobile notifications. We recommend signing up for the free county Nixle alerts, link below:
