Power Savers Alert!!
Due to high temperatures and increasing energy demand, we are asking municipal electric customers to VOLUNTARILY reduce electric use today, Thursday, June 11, 2026. Power Saver Hours are from 3 pm to 7 pm. Customers are encouraged to lower their electric use during these hours to save money both now and later. Participation will lower electric use throughout the community and in return lower customers’ monthly electric costs and reduce utility energy costs over time. The more people who participate, the bigger the impact.

Customers can help by taking simple steps such as:
• Make sure all blinds and curtains are closed to avoid extra heat getting into the home.

We are sorry to announce that the Can-Do Playground at the Charles E. Price Memorial Park on Levels Road has had to be closed down for awhile as we address the rubberized flooring underneath the playground. Unfortunately, the flooring has deteriorated and is deemed unsafe at this time. The Town is working to begin the repair process and the playground will be reopened as soon as we possibly can. The other two playgrounds adjacent to the Can-Do are still able to be used. Thank you!

🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🌱

The Delaware Forest Service’s Urban & Community Forestry Program is excited to host a Seedling Planting Party on May 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Blackbird State Forest!

We’re looking for volunteers to help pot approximately 230 seedlings as they begin their next stage of growth. This fun, hands-on outdoor event is a great opportunity to support Delaware’s forests, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with others who are passionate about conservation and community forestry.

Town of Middletown's water partner, Artesian Water, will be flushing their water system today, April 30, in the vicinity of Green Giant Road. This process may affect the connected water systems in the Preserve at Deep Creek and Estates at St. Anne's neighborhoods. This process will continue until it is completed.
If residents experience residue or brown color in their water, they should run a COLD water tap in their home for 10 minutes, or until the water runs clear.
What is water main flushing? Water main flushing moves water systematically through sections of a drinking water distribution system, creating a scouring action to clean the line. The increased flow rate scours the water pipe’s inner walls and helps to remove build-up of naturally occurring debris and sediment. The water is discharged through select fire hydrants onto local roads or other surface areas.
• The process is critical to the overall maintenance of a distribution system and is one of the most important practices carried out by public drinking water systems to maintain high water quality, improve the carrying capacity of pipes, and ensure proper operation of distribution system components, such as hydrants and valves.
• Flushing the water main lines also ensures that fire hydrants are operational and allows the operator to assess the available water pressure and flow rate for firefighting purposes. Flushing at lower velocities can also be used to bring fresh water into a part of the distribution system where the water main ends or dead-ends. Water main flushing is typically carried out through either conventional or unidirectional flushing (UDF). The type of flushing performed is based on the specific goals to be achieved within the distribution system.
