We serve a city population of about 9000, and we also offer resources to those outside the city area. We want to support your desire for personal growth and lifelong learning, and we try to provide resources for students of all ages. We select materials in response to local interest

and current topics, and we strive to provide a wide variety of books and audio tapes for recreational reading.

It's that time of year when reading fun comes to the library. Yes, it's the Summer Reading Program. The annual Summer Reading Kick-off Event is this coming Saturday, 6/6 from 10 to 2 pm. We'll have a scavenger hunt that leads to a free ice cream. And our special guest this year is The Discovery Center. They'll be here from 1 to 2 to help everyone get into this year's theme which is "Unearth a Story". Stop by to get creative with fossil arts and crafts. So wear your finest archeology gear or dinosaur finery to come celebrate.

Sign up for the Summer Reading Program on-site and get a free flying mini-disk (while supplies last). The reading fun lasts until Monday, August 10.

We hope to see you there! We're located at 307 Cornell St. We also have free Summer Reading library cards for any child under 18 who lives within the Middleton School District boundaries. The cards are valid until August 14. (Parents do have to come by and sign up their child for a card.)

It may not quite be Summer yet, but it is at Storytime this week! Bring your favorite pre-schooler to meet Miss Jenny and learn about all the fun activities and places that mean it's summer. The same stories are read at each storytime, so you can come Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for the same singing, dancing and stories. Miss Jenny can't wait to see you!

What starts with the letter L? We can think of one extra special word and it's LIBRARY! We just gave you a head start on this week's storytime letter that Miss Jenny is going talk about. And most important, she's going to read about all sorts of words that start with the letter L. So leapfrog or launch your way to the library at 10:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to learn about the letter L.

Just a reminder that tonight is the Library's Book Club meeting for May. The genre of book that everyone read was a historical fiction novel. So even if you've never come to a meeting, but you HAVE read a historical fiction novel some time in your past, please come and share your experiences reading it. It's a fun group of people who would love to meet you!

Storytime stories this week are all about things that are the color blue. Sometimes "blue" can mean sad, but we're sure Miss Jenny has only bright happy thoughts about things that are blue. So make sure to stop by this week as we're sure it's going to be "blue-tiful"!

Miss Jenny is working her way through the alphabet and this way she's made it to the letter K. Please stop by to hear stories featuring words that begin with the letter K. Feel free to bring older siblings or friends, as Miss Jenny always keeps things hopping (sometimes literally).
