At the recently concluded Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Spring 2026 conference, two of our long-standing members were honored with awards. Past President Kara Couch was presented with the Evonne Fowler Founder’s Award and former Board Member Catherine Milne the John A. Bostwick Award & Lectureship. Please join us in celebrating this well-deserved recognition for two clinicians who embody our mission of evidence-based multidisciplinary care every day.

🗣 Do you have an interesting, atypical, or particularly complex case that you would like to share?

The AAWC invites you to submit a case for consideration to be presented on a webinar, in our newsletter, or on social media! This is a premium opportunity to display your intriguing cases and concepts.

Please submit a concise summary of your case in 150-250 words, including outcomes and practice implications to: [email protected]/ [email protected]

Submission deadline is June 1, 2026

If your case is chosen for use, we will be in touch to request a short (5-10 slides with photographs on a provided AAWC template) slide deck summarizing your case. We will also set up a time to record you presenting your case (we can help if needed!). 💻

We can learn from many cases - please reach out with any questions and we are happy to guide you! 😎

2. What was the unique challenge or obstacle?
3. What were the interventions or solutions?
4. What were the responses to the interventions or solutions?
5. What can be learned from the case?
6. What would you differently in a similar future case?
7. What success did you glean from the case?

September is designated as Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Awareness Month. Blockages or narrowing of the blood vessels can lead to serious medical consequences. To raise awareness with both our medical colleagues and the public, we welcome your participation in our annual Show Your Toes challenge. Checking your feet for changes can help with early detection. Tag us in your images and we will share them on our networks. Follow our pages for more educational opportunities this month.
