September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to memorialize the young lives taken too soon and honor survivors, many of whom face chronic health challenges resulting from their treatment.

Jonathan “Johnny” Volpe, a childhood cancer survivor and passionate advocate from Monroe Township, works year-round with his family to raise awareness and educate the public about the realities of childhood cancer.

Johnny works as a Family Liaison for Embrace Kids Foundation, where he supports children with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as their families. He helps connect families with the foundation’s programs, resources, events, and other forms of support while building relationships and serving as a consistent point of contact. Johnny also assists with family outreach, coordinates programs, communicates with hospital social workers, and helps families stay connected to the Embrace Kids community.

The Indian Cultural Association of Monroe (ICAM) celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this weekend at the Monroe Township Senior Center. Mayor Dalina and Council President Siegel attended the event to celebrate this important milestone. Special thanks to ICAM and all the community organizers who made this event possible!

Monroe Township Fireworks Celebration

Monroe Township came together to celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary at Thompson Park during Monroe's annual fireworks celebration on Friday. With great food, music, games, rides, and a spectacular fireworks display, it was one to remember as our community celebrated America 250 together.

A special thank you to the Monroe Township Police Department, Monroe Township Fire Districts, Monroe Township EMS, the Department of Public Works, the Parks & Recreation Department, and all of our Jamesburg and Middlesex County partners for helping make friday night's festivities fun, safe, and memorable for everyone.
