Our officers have been hard at work spotting safe riders as part of the 2026 Bicycle Safety Campaign.

Officer Wesley Panckeri and Officer Kamrin O’Neill recently handed out reward tickets to children who were doing the right thing and wearing their helmets.

Rumor has it Officer O’Neill volunteered for this assignment after learning ice cream was involved, but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Keep wearing those helmets, you never know when an officer might have a reward ticket waiting for you.

🇺🇸 Supporting Our Veterans at Mayor Dalina’s Flag Day 5K Run/Walk 🇺🇸

Yesterday, Lieutenant Sergeis Jangols, Lieutenant Ronald Breuer, Lieutenant Thomas Martinez, and Officer Brian Rieker proudly represented the Monroe Township Police Department at Mayor Dalina’s Flag Day 5K Run/Walk in Thompson Park.

The event brought our community together in support of Monroe Township VFW Post 262 while honoring the spirit of Flag Day.

We were honored to join residents, volunteers, and community partners for this great cause.

Congratulations to Officer Brian Rieker, who finished 3rd overall with an impressive time of 24:50.44!

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the event a success.

Congratulations to several members of the Monroe Township Police Department who were recently recognized for their dedication and service.

Sergeant Justin Caruso and Officers Marc Kramer and Wesley Panckeri (not pictured) were honored by the 200 Club of Middlesex County with Valor Awards.

At the annual MADD Awards ceremony, Officer Jake Lloyd and Officer Sean Meagher (not pictured) received Recognition of Excellence Awards for DUI Enforcement. This marks Officer Lloyd’s ninth consecutive award from MADD and Officer Meagher’s fourth award.

Officer Lloyd also received a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Award. Sergeant Jason Cohn received a DRE Award as well. A Drug Recognition Expert since 2006, Sergeant Cohn has been recognized by MADD every year for his efforts to identify and remove impaired drivers from our roadways.

We are proud of these officers and grateful for their continued commitment to keeping our roads safe.

It was a busy week of community engagement and service for the Monroe Township Police Department.

Earlier this week, we celebrated the conclusion of another successful L.E.A.D. program with our annual Field Day. Thank you to our L.E.A.D. instructors, school staff, community partners, and all of the students who participated throughout the year.

Today, officers joined hundreds of law enforcement personnel from across New Jersey in the 43rd Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, helping carry the “Flame of Hope” in support of Special Olympics New Jersey and its athletes. The Torch Run raises awareness and funds for Special Olympics New Jersey, supporting year-round sports training and competition opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make both events a success.

What’s better than riding your bike on a beautiful day? Getting rewarded for doing it safely.

The Monroe Township Police Department is proud to launch our 2026 Bicycle Safety Campaign.

Throughout the summer, officers will be on the lookout for children who are wearing their bicycle helmets. Kids who are spotted riding safely may receive a reward ticket redeemable for free treats from our participating community partners.

We would like to thank The Doughfather, Antonio’s Pizzeria & Restaurant, Tomato Pies Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen, Molino’s Italian Kitchen, Four Boys Ice Cream, and Jamesburg Press for partnering with us to encourage safe riding throughout our community.

Wear your helmet, ride safely, and you might just earn a reward.

Today, we remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage secured the freedoms we enjoy today. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

It was a busy Tuesday for the Monroe Township Police Department as officers had the opportunity to connect with our community in two meaningful ways.

Earlier in the day, members of the department attended Monroe Township High School’s Armed Forces Appreciation Day, where students honored the men and women who have served our nation. Chief Griffin Banos, Captain Keith Saloom, and Lieutenant Sergeis Jangols were proud to join local veterans for the event, including Ernest Mogor, a World War II veteran who celebrated his 100th birthday in March. We thank the students, staff, and veterans who made the day so special.

Later that morning, officers met with residents at Coffee with a Cop at Dunkin’ in Gables Plaza. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to share a cup of coffee, ask questions, and engage in conversation with our officers. These informal interactions help strengthen the relationships that make our community so special.

We would also like to thank Dunkin’ for graciously hosting the event and welcoming us into their store. Special thanks to Officer Taylor Deickmann, who briefly traded in her police radio for a drive-thru headset. While we’re still reviewing her coffee-making qualifications, we’re happy to report there were no complaints filed with Internal Coffee Affairs.

The Monroe Township Police Department is currently accepting resumes for the position of Police Officer through Monday, June 15th at 11:59 PM. Resumes will only be accepted from certified officers or class II waiverable officers.

The Monroe Township Police Department is participating in New Jersey’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign, a statewide initiative focused on increasing seat belt use and improving roadway safety.

Following the 2025 campaign, New Jersey’s seat belt usage rate climbed to nearly 95%, one of the highest rates in the nation. Despite that progress, traffic safety officials report that more than 40% of drivers and passengers killed in New Jersey crashes each year were not wearing seat belts.

Nationally, nearly half of all passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes in 2024 were unrestrained, with nighttime crashes continuing to account for some of the highest rates of non-seatbelt use.

Officers from the Monroe Township Police Department will be conducting increased enforcement throughout the campaign period to encourage safe driving habits and help keep our roads safe.

Buckle up every trip, every time.

During EMS Week, we proudly recognize the dedicated professionals of Monroe Township EMS and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Paramedic Program for their unwavering commitment to our community.

Every day, EMTs and paramedics respond to emergencies with professionalism, compassion, and skill; providing critical care and reassurance during some of life’s most difficult moments. Their dedication does not go unnoticed, and our community is stronger because of their service.

We thank all EMS professionals for the sacrifices they make and for the care they provide each and every day. Happy EMS Week.
