Join us tonight at 7:30pm in the Mitchell Green Lounge for a reading by celebrated writer LORE SEGAL!

Lore Segal is a celebrated novelist and author of eight books for children. She was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 2009 for Shakespeare’s Kitchen, a novel. Born in Vienna in 1928, she was among the first group rescued from Hi**er during the Kindertransport mission. Her stories about being a refugee were later published in The New Yorker and elsewhere.

Her stories of assimilation and struggle, in various forms and genres, have won her a wide, admiring audience and numerous awards and prizes. She has taught at Columbia, Princeton, and Sarah Lawrence, among other colleges.

This reading is co-sponsored by the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference.

Internship opportunity for ENAM majors!

Summer Publishing Internship - Children's Books (Waitsfield, VT)

Book publisher seeks high-achieving high school graduate or college student studying marketing, English, writing or publishing for a fun summer internship in a fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities may include shipping, customer service, database maintenance and updates, filing and office support. Someone with an interest in editorial work, game development, website development, and/or social media and marketing will also be able to put those talents to use in a number of projects during summer break.

This isn't an internship where you will be picking up coffee. Instead you will work amongst a creative team that will expect you to participate and offer your own ideas in meetings. The intern will have the exciting opportunity to participate in the publication of books from idea to bookshelf. No two days will be identical at the office and we need someone who will be eager to accept new projects.

The intern will be provided with their own office space and brand-new equipment. This is a position best suited for a creative person who is interested in a high-powered job working with a famous brand. The work we do is challenging, interesting, and might help lead to great things for the right person. Slackers need not apply!

Compensation: Hourly, based on experience
