📌Save the date! Next Thursday, 9/17, at 6:30pm is the first in our new community lecture series "Weekday Symposium." Each lecture in this series is free and open to the public.

VTSU Johnson professor Dr. Hannah Miller will be presenting a talk entitled "Vermont Libraries Resist: What I Have Learned about Community, Democracy, and Civil Rights from Knitting in Every Public Library in Our Brave Little State." Dr. Miller has a very amusing anecdote about their trip to the Ilsley, so make sure to check it out!

📚We are finally settled into our new space and have restarted interlibrary loan (ILL) services for our patrons. If there is a book that we don't have at the Ilsley or at Sarah Partridge, we may be able to acquire it for you from another library. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

📌Check our catalog before requesting an ILL! We are adding new books all the time.

📌We can only request books that were published more than a year ago. If you are interested in a book published within the last year, please submit a purchase suggestion instead of an ILL request.

📌Ilsley Homecard patrons should request ILLs through their home library, not through the Ilsley.

📌There is a limit of 5 active ILLs per patron at any given time.

You can visit our website to get started: https://www.ilsleypubliclibrary.org/find-it/request-an-ill-check-status-of-a-request/

ILLs can also be requested at the Circulation Desk.

Today, we were thrilled to host Liv & her animal ambassadors from the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS)! Pictured are Ithaca, a red-shouldered hawk, and Miami, an Eastern screech owl. Our Great Room was filled to the brim with avid learners and raptor fans of all ages. We’re grateful to Liv for making the trip up from Quechee!

🎉🌻 We’ve come a long way from the basement!

A very special part of our grand opening celebration was the unveiling of our new children’s area, which began with a mini ribbon-cutting and included an inaugural StoryTime with Miss Tricia and button-making with Miss Julie.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to the hundreds of kids that have already visited the library. We hope you love this bright, airy new space!
