*Conserve Water Request Rescinded - 6/5/2026*

We are rescinding our request for residences and businesses to conserve water as the Village DPW Crew identified and fixed the source of a major water line break on Lawyers Lane yesterday.

Many thanks are in order for our DPW Crew who fixed water line breaks on Chestnut Lane, Grover Street, and Lawyers Lane. We are also thankful to Nate of New York Rural Water Association, former DPW Superintendent Nicholas Dunscombe, and Shane Foland for assisting our crew.

The Village Department of Public Works (DPW) has successfully repaired the water service line on Grove Street, and the street has been reopened. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.

Please be advised that Grove Street is open for local traffic only as of 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 4th, as the Village of Middleburgh Department of Public Works is fixing a water line break on that street. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.

The Village Department of Public Works (DPW) has successfully repaired the water main on Chestnut Lane and the street has been fully reopened. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.

*DPW Advisory: Water Line Break on Chestnut Lane*

Update (9:15): Water to Chestnut Lane has been reconnected upon repairing the water main.

Update (8:30 AM): Water to Chestnut Lane has been disconnected while repairs are underway.

Please be advised that Chestnut Lane is partially closed as of 8:00 AM on Thursday, June 4th, as the Village of Middleburgh Department of Public Works is fixing a major water line break on that street. The front and rear sections of the street can be accessed via vehicle while it remains fully open to pedestrian traffic. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.

*Conserve Water Request - 6/4/2026*

UPDATE (6/5/26, 9:30 AM): We are rescinding our request for water conservation as the Village DPW Crew identified and fixed the source of a major water line break on Lawyers Lane yesterday afternoon. Thank you for your patience and assistance during this process.

UPDATE (12:15 PM): The Village DPW Crew has fixed the Chestnut Lane water line break and a sixth water like break is being repaired currently on Grove Street. Please conserve all nonessential water usage. Thanks.

The Village of Middleburgh Water Department would like to request that residents and businesses conserve water today, as the Village is experiencing a major water line break. Over the past two weeks, our Village DPW has located and fixed four water line breaks throughout the community.

As we speak, the Village DPW are on the scene at Chestnut Lane fixing a fifth water line break. Please refrain from watering flowers and plants, filling pools, and any other unnecessary forms of water usage. We will update as more information becomes available on the Village page and Website.
