The Tyler County School district is comprised of two elementary schools serving students in preschool through grade 5, one consolidated middle school, serving students in grades 6-8, and one consolidated high school serving students in grades 9-12. Our district is home to approximately 1,262 students with over 200 employees, and offers a comprehensive program of core academic classes, a wide array

of elective and advanced placement classes, award-winning fine arts programs, and a complete special education program that enables us to meet the needs of all learners. Dear Tyler County School Families,

Staying on top of your child's attendance just got a lot easier.

Starting August 31, 2026, all Tyler County Schools will be using a new text-based system to keep you informed when your child is absent — and to make it simple for you to respond, ask questions, and share notes, all without a phone call.

Here's what's new:
• You'll receive a text when your child is absent. A message will come from the phone number listed below next to your child’s school — save this number in your contacts so you never miss it.
• You can text back directly. Reply to confirm an absence, share the reason, or ask a question. It's that simple.
• You can send photos of notes by text. Need to submit a parent note or a doctor's note? Just take a photo and text it to the same number — no need to drop anything off at the office.
• You can proactively text us. Know that your child will be absent? Send us a text to the number listed below next to your child’s school and we’ll update the record accordingly.

The texts are powered by our AI attendance assistant, every response goes directly to our attendance team, and your child's record is updated accordingly.

If you have questions or need help, please reach out to your child’s school. We're grateful for your partnership and committed to making every school day count.

Tyler County Schools faculty and staff kicked off the 2026-2027 school year yesterday with a countywide meeting in the Tyler Consolidated auditorium.

The first day for students is Wednesday, August 19th. If you have any questions, please contact your child's school.

Safety Training for Substitutes, New Staff & Coaches will be held on 8/11/26 at TCHS/MS Library from 8am - 3pm. The agenda includes Crisis Response, SRP Training, Mass Casualty Response, Stop the Bleed & FA/AED/CPR certification in the afternoon. Hope to see you there!

Tyler County Schools is proud to support the Tyler County Fair and our local youth by purchasing hogs and a steer raised and exhibited by our students!
The locally raised meat will be incorporated into our Child Nutrition Program and used to prepare from-scratch recipes for our students. This is a wonderful opportunity to support the hard work of our young agricultural producers while strengthening the connection between local agriculture and our school cafeterias.
We are excited to bring quality, locally raised products to our students’ plates while investing directly in the youth and families of Tyler County. It’s a win for our students, our schools, and our community!
