πŸ’Όβœ¨ Longwood Entrepreneurs Shine at East End Networking Event

We're proud of Longwood High School's Virtual Enterprise students who recently joined nearly 30 Long Island high schools at the Atlantis Ballroom in Riverhead for the annual East End Networking Event!

Students representing two firms, Mistify and Reveal & Restore, designed professional trade show booths, sold products to hundreds of attendees, and built strategic partnerships with VE firms regionwide. Trade shows like these are the culminating experience of the Virtual Enterprise curriculum and part of the CTE Technical Endorsement, giving students hands-on experience in negotiation, sales, and networking.

Skills that will take them far in college and their future careers!

These talented musicians will perform in band, orchestra, or chorus at the All County Concert at Patchogue-Medford High School in March. This achievement reflects years of dedication, practice, and exceptional talent.

🎨πŸ’ͺ Felipe Chicas Carballo and Alejandro Gomez Troya from Ms. Hemberger's 11th Grade Health class created something special! Their painted ceiling tile conveys a powerful message about resilience, inner strength, and overcoming addiction.

Through this project, these ENL students demonstrated how art can promote awareness and inspire positive choices. We're proud to recognize their dedication, collaboration, and meaningful contribution to our school community!

This is what happens when students use their talents to make a difference!

πŸŽπŸ’š Third Graders Spread Holiday Cheer to Seniors

Third grade classes at Charles E. Walters Elementary recently teamed up to make holiday gifts and cards for residents of The Chelsea assisted and independent living facility in Yaphank!

Students created heartfelt holiday cards, while individual classes crafted special gifts: Mr. Arnesen's class made mini snow globes, Ms. Bowman's class created ornaments, and Ms. Licciardi's class designed bookmarks.

Small hands, big hearts! Our students are learning early that kindness and community connection matter.

πŸŽ“πŸ’š 15+ Alumni Share Real-World Insights with 800 Students

Longwood alumni from 2018-2025 returned on December 22nd to inspire current students! Over 800 High School students heard firsthand about college life, career paths, and navigating the transition after graduation.

Students asked questions about dorm life, study habits, balancing academics and social life, and pursuing internships. Alumni shared how their Longwood experience prepared them for success and spoke with obvious pride about their accomplishments.

This is part of the Academies of Longwood initiative, which helps students map their paths from high school to career. When alumni give back like this, everyone wins!
